Marks, texture or scars?
Red or dark marks after spots are usually not scars but traces of the inflammation, which can fade over time. An uneven skin texture with visible pores affects the upper layers of the skin. Scars develop when tissue beneath the skin is damaged by deep inflammation; small dents remain. Squeezing increases the risk.
What we do at La Finesse
We work cosmetically on skin texture, pores and complexion: with microneedling with GlowSolution Reverse Needling, the HydraFacial® or a classic facial. We plan microneedling as a course of several sessions. How your skin responds varies from person to person. Important: the acne must have settled beforehand. As long as there are still inflamed spots, we take care of these first, see acne and blemished skin.
What we do not work on
Sunken scars are not a case for cosmetic care. Doctors in dermatology offer procedures for these. If we see scars in the skin analysis, we will tell you openly.
What you can do yourself
Do not squeeze spots, wear sun protection every day (sun makes marks darker) and keep the skin calm with mild skincare.

Can acne scars be addressed cosmetically?
We do not work on sunken scars; they belong in dermatology. Cosmetically, we work on skin texture, pores and complexion. Whether this makes sense for your skin, we tell you after the skin analysis.
How many sessions do I need?
We plan microneedling as a course of several sessions a few weeks apart. How many sessions make sense and how your skin responds varies from person to person. We discuss this after the skin analysis.
Can I have a treatment if I still have spots?
We do not perform microneedling on inflamed areas. First we calm the skin, for example with the HydraFacial® or a classic facial. After that we plan the work on the skin texture.
Is microneedling uncomfortable?
Most people find GlowSolution Reverse Needling pleasant to slightly tingling. We adapt the needles and intensity to your skin. Tell us at any time if something feels uncomfortable.
Is there any downtime?
The skin may be red for a short time after the treatment. Many people go back to their daily routine afterwards. We give you care instructions for the first few days straight away.
Are red marks after spots also scars?
Usually not. Red or dark marks are traces of the inflammation and often fade over time. Suitable skincare, sun protection and treatments can support this. More on this under pigmentation spots.
I take medication for acne. Is a treatment possible?
Please tell us about all medication before every treatment. With certain acne medication such as isotretinoin, microneedling is only possible after a break recommended by your doctor. Please clarify this with your doctor.

When will I see a difference in acne scars?
That is individual. Many notice a fresher complexion after the first session, changes in texture build up over several weeks. This is why we plan microneedling as a course.
Can I have acne scars treated in summer?
Yes, with consistent sun protection. Autumn and winter are considered ideal.
